Economic Observation: Vietnam'S Garment Exports May Surpass Bangladesh

On December 27, the Daily Star quoted Vietnamese media reports that Vietnam's clothing exports are expected to reach US $44 billion this year, surpassing Bangladesh. The lower the Bangladesh clothing export target is, the lower the export target is. Khatam, chairman of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association, said that Vietnam's clothing exports will surpass Bangladesh's this year, because although labor costs are lower than Vietnam's, Vietnam's clothing industry has not faced labor unrest, natural gas crisis or tax issues.
