Ministry Of Commerce: Morocco Is The Eighth Largest Source Of Clothing Imports In The EU

According to the Moroccan Morning Post on February 10, as of the end of November 2024, Morocco is still the eighth largest source of clothing imports for the EU, with exports to Europe of 2.52 billion euros, up 7% year on year. At the same time, Morocco also imports a large amount of textiles from the European Union, with an import volume of about 1.9 billion euros. Morocco occupies an important position in the textile and clothing field in Europe.

By the end of November 2024, the EU's clothing import volume was about 78.6 billion euros. China is still the largest supplier to the EU, with an export volume of 22.1 billion euros, up 1% year on year. It was followed by Bangladesh (16.7 billion), Turkey (8.6 billion), India (3.9 billion), Vietnam (3.6 billion), Cambodia (3.58 billion), Pakistan (3.2 billion), Morocco (2.52 billion), Myanmar (2.02 billion) and Tunisia (2.01 billion).

It is worth noting that China is not only the largest clothing supplier in the EU, but also the main destination of EU clothing exports. By the end of November 2024, China's clothing imports from the EU were 3.2 billion euros, mainly concentrated in the luxury sector. In terms of textiles, China is still the main supplier to the EU. By the end of November 2024, the export volume was 10.4 billion euros, followed by Turkey (4.5 billion euros) and Pakistan (2.5 billion euros).
