John Deighton, a member of the world brand laboratory expert group and professor of marketing department of Harvard University business school, said that the world's top 500 brands released in 7 consecutive years were judged on the basis of the brand's world influence, that is, the ability of the brand to expand the market, occupy the market and gain profits. The ranking lists the world class brands according to the three indicators, such as market share, brand loyalty and global leadership, etc., according to John.
In 2010, there were 28 countries in the world top 500 brand list, of which 237 were seats in the top 500, 4 less than last year. France ranked second in 47 brands, and third in Japan.
The top ten brands included Britain, Germany, Switzerland, China, Italy, Holland and Sweden.

This year's "top 500" brand has covered 49 small businesses. Among China's selected brands, only Tsingtao Brewery (107 years old) exceeded 100 years old.
The world branding lab was chaired by Robert Robert, the Nobel Laureate of economics in 1999, and is dedicated to brand evaluation, brand communication and brand management.
