Designer Yang Fang himself is very beautiful, a simple and elegant simple dress, standing in a large and bright room, smiling eyes sparkling.

Taking advantage of the photographer's adjustment of the shooting angle, she took us through the corners of the studio.

In the living room, samples of by FANG spring and summer series are displayed in the living room. As the name of this series "Flower Power" expresses, the shadow of "flowers" is hidden in clothes in various ways: the flowery and crisscross prints of ink and wash are flowing lightly, and clusters of stars are scattered on the gauze coat. The delicate Eugen gauze is wrapped in soft roses on the edge of skirts. These flowers have broken the binding of cloth, and have been gentle and powerful in FANG.

Although the elements of flowers are widely used, the colors of the whole series are almost controlled by black and white.

This is a very smart choice. The classic black and white color conceals the impetuosity of flowers, while the flexible design of petals also dilutes the visual pressure caused by a single color.

These quiet and beautiful skirts remind Audrey Hepburn and the goddess of the golden age of Hollywood.

In Yang Fang's eyes, design and life should be slow and meaningful.

She said: "the beauty and handcraft details that can be inherited and lasting are what I yearn for. My product is strictly controlled small batch, exquisite and slow manual details. I hope people can slow down the pace, savour and appreciate it."

  

 

  

 

  

 

Yang Fang also tends to use Chinese traditional silk fabrics more in fabric selection.

Inspired by Origami

The way artists get inspiration is often very subtle, and any emotion, story and detail that comes to life from hand to hand will collide with unlimited imagination. "I remember in a trance that it was an early morning, sitting at the desk in Paris's home, I played with the silk fabric sample sent by the supplier.

The stiff Eugen yarn is very textured, and the geometric figure of an equilateral is unknowingly produced in my hand.

I was surprised by this accidental creation.

Yang Fang described her fantastic moments of inspiration, which eventually became the brand symbol of by FANG in origami.

When it comes to linking with origami, Yang Fang first thought of grandma. "Origami is something that everyone played when he was little."

My grandmother was a paper folding master. When I was little, the most pleasant thing was to catch up with grandma and let her do all kinds of origami for me.

She said with fresh memory.

The origami, which bears the carefree memories of the girlhood, naturally carries the sensitivity and sharpness of women, and has now become the best way for Yang Fang to interpret herself.

The special isometric hexagon is connected to a rich dress. Fan winding winds around the front of the cocktail skirt, like a tightly folded paper fan, which makes the feminine vivid beauty perfectly. The abstract flowers, like the broken white paper, are arranged in the skirt.

The line, intensity and sense of simplicity in origami art itself are rearranged by Yang Fang's hand, and new vitality can be found on traditional silk fabrics.

"Origami is pure and aesthetically beautiful. It has both tradition and modernity. A bland paper carries all kinds of possibilities, which is similar to design."

Yang Fang said, "as a design element, it can be applied to almost every single item of clothing, which is why I love it."

Yang Fang not only likes to draw inspiration from the ancient origami process, but also tends to use traditional Chinese fabrics in silk fabric selection. She knows the emotions and uses of different fabrics.

Suzhou satin, heavy weight is very suitable for making the vertical heave feeling of vertical cutting; Ou Gensha and satin are suitable for three-dimensional architectural sense; chiffon and Shun bridge are suitable for pparent lightness.

In the design of by FANG, it is difficult to find the fashionable decorative elements. Yang Fang is very calm about this.

"I refuse Fast Fashion, and I hate Mass Production.

These so-called "fashion" costumes make people feel a little cheap. In the information age of mass production and digitalization, the handcrafts we once forgotten or abandoned are even more precious.

She said, "I hope my clothes can bring people a reflection, a little curiosity, a touch of touch.

The world does not need another designer who follows the trend.

"Beauty and strength can coexist".

Yang Fang, who was born and raised in Shanghai, studied costume design at Donghua University. When he was sophomore, he founded a clothing brand "OHLALA" with his partners.

Due to the accurate grasp of the trend and the unique design style, Yang Fang's works were quickly recognized by the market, but this did not arouse her sense of accomplishment.

The ideal of art and beauty has been kept intact in Yang Fang's mind, prompting her to keep chasing and looking for it.

In 2002, Yang Fang gave up his career and took the money he saved and went to Paris, where the fashion people yearned for.

In his own words, the 6 year tour of Paris in the capital of art is a revolutionless revolution. "The gallery area of Paris has almost every Tuesday the opening ceremony of all kinds of contemporary art exhibitions. There are wine and delicious food at the exhibition site, and the whole person is totally submerged in the breath of art from vision to taste."

She said with a smile.

Listening to opera, watching modern dance, drinking red wine, delicacy, and mixing in the contemporary art circle of Paris, this seemingly unpopular extravagant life, however, pushed Yang Fang completely into another new field of vision. "Let a 20 year old have never been abroad before, and accepted the exam oriented education and strict discipline of the Chinese intellectual family, I got an aesthetic rebirth."
