Germany'S Trade Surplus Was 16 Billion 700 Million Euros In March 2008.

According to Provisional Statistics from the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), Germany exported 84 billion euros of goods in March 2008 and imported 67 billion 300 million euros.


    

In March 2008, Germany's exports and imports increased by 0.2% and 3.3% respectively compared with March 2007.

According to calendar and seasonality adjustment, export and import month to month situation is as follows: exports decreased by 0.5% compared with February 2008, and imports increased by 0.8% compared with February 2008.


    

In March 2008, the trade surplus was 16 billion 700 million euros.

In March 2007, the surplus was 187 euros.

According to calendar and seasonal adjustment, the trade surplus in March 2008 was 15 billion 400 million euros.


    

According to the preliminary statistics of Deutsche federal bank, the balance of trade payment in March 2008 showed a surplus of 17 billion 200 million euros, including services (-7 billion euros) production factor income (net) (5 billion euros), pportation in the year (-31 billion euros) and supplementary trade item (-7 billion euros).

In March 2007, the trade balance in Germany showed a surplus of 20 billion 700 million euros.


    

In March 2008, Germany exported 54 billion 800 million euros to EU Member States and imported 44 billion 100 million euros from these member states.


    

Compared with March 2007, Germany's exports to EU member countries decreased by 1.5% and imports increased by 1.8%.

In March 2008, euro zone countries exported 36 billion 300 million euros (-2.7%) to Europe, and 30 billion 400 million euros (+ 0.2%) were imported from these countries.


    

In March 2008, 18 billion 500 million euros were exported to non euro zone countries, and 13 billion 700 million euros were imported from these countries (+5.5%).


    

In March 2008, Germany exported 29 billion 200 million euros to the non EU countries (third countries) and imported 23 billion 200 million euros.

Compared to March 2007, exports to third countries increased by 3.5% and imports increased by 6.3%.
