Government, Enterprise And Research Institutes Cooperate To Explore A New Path For Low-Carbon Development Of The Textile Industry -- To Create A Green Low-Carbon "Jinjiang Model" In The Whole Industrial Chain

Recently, a seminar focusing on the green transformation of the textile industry was held in Jinjiang. The provincial, Quanzhou and Jinjiang three-level market supervision departments, the provincial standardization research institute, the provincial metrology institute, together with China Quality Certification Center and other institutions, formed a research team, and gathered with Jinjiang dyeing and finishing, swimwear, slippers, building ceramics industry associations and 18 enterprise representatives to seek a new path of low-carbon development in Jinjiang.

Carbon footprint certification is regarded as the "green passport" for the industry to enter the international market. As an important production base of textile shoes and clothing in China, Jinjiang actively responds to the national "double carbon" strategy, focuses on textile competitive industries, and makes every effort to promote the pilot application of product carbon footprint identification certification. At the end of last year, Jinjiang City was selected as the national textile carbon footprint certification pilot city, and is the only pilot city in Quanzhou.

This research focuses on the whole industrial chain of textile shoes and clothing, and explores the carbon accounting model construction, data collection, carbon footprint factor collection, standard construction, etc. from raw material procurement, production and manufacturing to recycling, aiming to create a replicable "Jinjiang model". In combination with the characteristics of Jinjiang's textile industry, experts from the participating institutions shared the cutting-edge policies and experience of carbon footprint identification certification, interpreted the national top-level design, analyzed the impact of international carbon tariffs, introduced how enterprises use the pilot opportunity to accurately find out the carbon "family background" of enterprises and take targeted improvement measures, and emphasized the key role of certification in breaking through trade barriers and promoting industrial transformation. The participating enterprises raised nearly 60 professional issues, such as "how to deal with foreign trade barriers", "how to determine the carbon accounting boundary", "carbon footprint certification scenario application and international mutual recognition". The expert team proposed solutions and ideas one by one on the spot, and reminded enterprises to pay attention to data security in foreign trade and avoid international trade disputes.

The research team also divided into three ways to conduct field research on Jinjiang Qicai Fox Clothing and Weaving Co., Ltd., Shixingda (Fujian) Textile Technology Co., Ltd., and Jinjiang Gangyi Fiber Products Co., Ltd., to deeply understand the production process, process, energy consumption, carbon emission preliminary data, etc. of the enterprise, and further exchange, and put forward suggestions on the personalized needs of the enterprise.

The participating enterprises generally believed that the carbon footprint certification was transforming from a policy requirement to a market demand. The pilot research work carried out this time will strongly promote the transformation of enterprises to green and low-carbon, at the same time help to build an industry carbon reduction mechanism, lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the industry, and help "Made in Jinjiang" take the lead in the international green track.
