Seven years ago, Muling had no flax or textile, and the textile industry was a blank.

In the past seven years, Muling flax textile industry has attracted an accumulated investment of 1 billion yuan, invested in the construction of 13 flax textile enterprises, with a production capacity of 63000 spindles, accounting for 10% of the country's flax textile share.

Without raw materials and markets, Muling linen textile industry, which has "two ends out", has gone from "zero start" to "acceleration".

At the recent commencement ceremony of key projects in the province, four more hemp textile manufacturing projects were unveiled in Muling.

Over the past seven years, Muling's flax textile industry has expanded from the second industry to the first and third industry around the "building a circle and a strong chain", creating a beautiful picture for Muling's textile industry.

On the morning of April 17, the breeze was not dry and the sun was just right.

Before visiting the hemp textile enterprises, Sun Tienian took the reporter around the hemp textile industrial park. Sun Tienian, as the director of Muling Project Service Center, is a hero of Muling's hemp textile industry. He introduced Muling's first hemp textile enterprise.

Sitting on the bus, more than a dozen hemp textile enterprises, such as Longmu, Jintai and Xindongmao, rushed by. The grand enterprise logo, clean factory appearance, continuous fences and towering tower cranes all demonstrated the image and strength of the enterprise, and filled with the breath and vitality of the emerging hemp textile industry.

But at the sound of the loom, there was no spinner. In the workshop of Tianheng Linen Textile Co., Ltd., automated spinning equipment has replaced most of the manual work. The high-speed comb and flax beater make the sound of the loom, which is inspiring.

From the arrival of raw materials to the warehousing of finished products, Zhao Zhecheng, the general manager, led the reporter around according to the process.

Spinning should go through 19 processes, including basting, splitting, combing, slinging, roving, winding, etc; Weaving involves 8 processes, including warping, weaving and finishing.

In May 2019, Tianheng Hemp Textile with a total investment of 70 million yuan settled in Muling Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a capacity of 10000 spindles. Its flax materials come from France, Belgium and Egypt. More than 95% of its flax yarn and linen cloth are exported to Europe, with an annual export volume of 10 million dollars.

Zhao Zhecheng, a young general manager from Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, told reporters that he chose Muling to invest and build a factory, "mainly considering the good local business environment and more preferential investment policies."

Sun Yuling, deputy director of the management committee of the development zone, told the reporter that Tianheng Hemp Textile is not the largest among the hemp textile enterprises in the development zone, but it is the most representative. It has a long industrial chain and can spin and weave.

In just seven years, there were 13 Muling hemp related enterprises, including spinning, weaving, planting, processing, hemp materials and other fields, accounting for 20% of the enterprises above the designated size of the city.

The flax industry enterprises in the city have completed a total investment of 690 million yuan in fixed assets. The spinning production capacity is 63000 spindles, accounting for about 10% of the national flax spindles. The annual output of various yarns is 7400 tons, and the annual output of linen cloth is more than 7 million linear meters.

"Muling City has become the largest single flax spinning city in China." Sun Yuling said optimistically that after all the above enterprises have been put into production and achieved results, they can achieve an annual output of more than 9600 tons of various yarns, 10 million linear meters of linen, and an annual output value of more than 1 billion yuan.

How did Muling, once a zero linen textile company, gather 13 linen textile enterprises and form a linen textile industry cluster in a short time?

As a person who has experienced the hemp textile industry's investment attraction, Sun Tienian said that in addition to the excellent business environment, it is inseparable from the "mentoring" among investors.

During the Spring Festival in 2015, Sun Tienian met Chen Weidong, a businessman from Harbin, through friends. He has a deep experience in the "hemp circle" in China, and is looking for an ideal place to invest and build hemp textile enterprises in the province.

This matter has aroused great attention of Muling Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. The city has boldly introduced and fully supported this problem breaking and original industry.

After several rounds of negotiation, Chen Weidong decided to settle down in Muling and first build a production line with an annual output of 5000 spindles of short jute yarn. Sun Tienian was also identified by the city as the "contractor" cadre of the project.

In July 2015, Muling Longmuyapin Linen Textile Co., Ltd., with a fixed asset investment of 52.5 million yuan, started construction in the development zone, which is the first linen textile enterprise in Muling.

Since the production of Longmu Hemp has reached its capacity, the market of short hemp yarn is promising, and the supply exceeds the demand, with the highest price of 63000 yuan/ton. In 2021, the company will realize 40 million yuan of sales revenue and financial freedom. Chen Weidong's investment has earned returns.

The second company to settle in Muling is Taxus Linen Textile Co., Ltd., which is from Inner Mongolia and introduced by Chen Weidong.

In September 2016, the construction of taxus cuspidata hemp textile with an investment of 83.32 million yuan and a capacity of 15000 spindles was started, and it was put into production in May 2019. All of them were put into production with an annual output of 2000 tons of flax yarn and an annual output value of 120 million yuan.

The third company to enter Muling is Xinling Linen Textile Co., Ltd., which is from Shanghai.

In 2017, Chen Weidong pushed Liang Zhijian, a Shanghainese who had been his trading partner for many years, to Muling.

In June 2018, Xinling Linen Textile Co., Ltd., with an investment of 81.2 million yuan and a production capacity of 17000 spindles, was put into operation. After all the operations were completed, the company will produce 2000 tons of flax yarn annually, with an output value of 210 million yuan.

There are platforms for heavyweight figures like Chen Weidong and Liang Zhijian in the "hemp circle". Muling Municipal Government seizes the opportunity to launch various forms of networking activities and sincerely invites domestic "hemp circle" people to Muling for investigation, negotiation, investment and business development.

At present, there are 13 flax related enterprises in Muling Development Zone that have been put into production and achieved results. By the end of this year, there will be 4 new flax enterprises settled in Muling. A flax textile industrial cluster integrating spinning, weaving, processing and planting has initially taken shape in Muling City.

With the growth of "hemp loop", Muling hemp textile industry has expanded, spread and strengthened from the original single secondary industry to the primary and tertiary industry, and the industrial chain has been constantly supplemented, extended and strengthened.

Muling Hongsong Hanma Technology Co., Ltd. from Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, is a comprehensive hemp related enterprise. At present, it has established four parts in Muling: a hemp planting base, a hemp threshing plant, a hemp wet spinning plant and a research and development base. The total investment of the project is 80 million yuan, and the annual output value can be 300 million yuan.

The settlement of Hongsonghan hemp project has achieved a breakthrough in Muling's flax industry from the second to the first industry, ended Muling's history of not planting flax, and promoted the adjustment of agricultural planting structure.

In August 2022, Muling flax textile has made another breakthrough in "building circles and strengthening chains". Zhejiang Xindongmao Group, a domestic leading spinning enterprise, established Heilongjiang Xindongmao Textile Technology Co., Ltd. in Muling Development Zone to build a hemp textile industrial park. The production projects of a full range of linen textiles, such as pure flax, hemp, interwoven and blended fabrics, with an investment of 600 million yuan and a capacity of 25000 spindles, have been completed and can be put into production by the end of this year. This project is the first digital bast textile enterprise with the largest production scale in northern China.

According to the industrial development plan, Muling plans to introduce end product enterprises, create its own brand, and develop fabrics and clothing, knitting, home textile, flax oil processing, flaxseed health products, etc. Realize an annual sales revenue of 2 billion yuan and a tax of 95 million yuan, and build the park into a "emerging hemp textile city in China" integrating planting, processing, production, trading, research and development, and training.

At a high-end meeting of the national textile industry held recently, Mayor of Muling Zhang Haifeng said that it is planned to use five years to build a national demonstration base of linen textile industry by promoting the construction of "four hemp textiles" of "whole industry chain hemp textile", "innovation driven hemp textile", "digital intelligent hemp textile" and "green circular hemp textile".
