Store News: Wal Mart Appoints Zhu Jun As Chief Operating Officer Of China'S Hypermarkets
According to media reports on December 1, Wal Mart's stores in China have changed their looks a few days ago. On November 29, Wal Mart appointed Zhu Jun as vice president of Wal Mart China and chief operating officer of hypermarkets.
Gu Jianzhang, vice president of Wal Mart China and chief operating officer of hypermarkets, ended his expatriate term at the end of November this year. His new job assignment meeting has not yet been announced. Zhu Jun, vice president of purchasing innovation of Sam's club in China, has taken over.
According to reports, Zhu Jun joined Wal Mart in January 2021, responsible for direct import and procurement, cross-border e-commerce, road show and gift card business, and took over non food and X-plus business in June this year.
It is worth mentioning that recently, Wal Mart (China) announced in a statement that Wal Mart stores located in Hujing garden, Honghu Road, Luohu District, Shenzhen (hereinafter referred to as "Honghu Wal Mart") will be closed from December 7, 2021, because the owners are about to upgrade the property as a whole.
According to public information, Honghu Wal Mart was opened in August 1996 as Wal Mart's store in the mainland. The whole store has three floors, covering an area of nearly 20000 square meters, and has been operating for 25 years.
Wal Mart's new financial report shows that as of October 31, 2021, its total revenue has reached 140.5 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%, and the net profit attributable to its parent has decreased by nearly four times to 3.105 billion yuan; Among them, the revenue of Sam's club is on the rise. The sales volume of Sam's Club increased by 13.9% in the third quarter and 25% in two years.
It is worth mentioning that recently, Zhu Xiaojing, President and CEO of Wal Mart China, said that this year marks the 25th anniversary of Wal Mart's entry into China. Along the way, we are fortunate to witness the earth shaking changes in China's retail market. She pointed out that since last year, Wal Mart China has launched an overall core strategy focusing on three directions: differentiated commodity power, improving end-to-end efficiency and multi-channel experience. At the same time, efforts should be made to enhance the support of two core capabilities: digital upgrading; Talent / organization / culture.
Zhu Xiaojing said that in Sam's club store and Wal Mart hypermarket, there may be many differences in the specific external and internal conditions, but the core strategy is the same.
