Exports to the US market

Export amount

The total value of textiles and clothing exports in 2019 1-6 amounted to US $610 million, up 13% from the same period of the previous year. The main export items were garments and clothing, with an export value of US $450 million, accounting for 74% of the total export value, followed by fiber, with an export value of US $63 million, accounting for 10% of the total export value. The export value of all products except cloth was higher than that of the same period of the previous year. Among them, the largest growth was fiber, accounting for 78% growth, and export bulk garments and apparel products grew by 4%.

Export volume

In the 1-6 month of 2019, fiber, yarn and miscellaneous exports grew, while fabric declined. The export volume of garments and garments was 150 million square meters, up 1% over the same period of the previous year.

Export average unit price

The average unit price of fiber and fabric increased by 8% and 6% respectively. The average unit price of yarn and miscellaneous products decreased by 12% and 69% respectively. The average unit price of exported garments and garments increased from $2.91 per square metre in the previous year to US $3, up by 3% (see Table 1).

Export to EU market

Export amount

The total value of textiles and clothing exports in 2019 1-6 amounted to US $570 million, representing a decrease of 6% compared with the same period in the previous year. The main export items were garments and clothing, with an export value of US $400 million, accounting for 69% of the total export value, followed by cloth, with an export value of US $53 million, accounting for 9% of the total export value. Exports of bulk garments and clothing decreased by 4%.

Export volume

Total exports of textiles and clothing amounted to 91 thousand tonnes in 1-6 months in 2019, a decrease of 3% over the same period of the previous year. Exports of bulk fiber products amounted to 34 thousand tonnes, accounting for 38% of total exports, and exports grew by 5% over the same period of the previous year.

Export average unit price

The average unit price of fiber, cloth and miscellaneous items increased by 3%, 8% and 4% respectively over the same period of the previous year. The average unit price of yarn decreased by 13%. The average unit price of exported garments and garments decreased from $13.3 per kilogram in the previous year to US $12.46, down by 6% (see table two).
