A surprising news came from Hubei's largest cotton mill, the Sedum group: the company completely shut down the old plant's 57 thousand spindles spinning production line.
At the same time, in the factory area of the overseas Chinese hometown, a functional composite textile material project with a total investment of 550 million yuan is being launched, and equipment installation and plant construction are going on vigorously.

The production of 57 thousand spindles of cotton spinning equipment in the old factory area of the Sedum group has been completely shut down. Some of the equipment has been removed and there is no scene of silk dancing in the past.
At its height, the production line was busy with nearly 300 employees.

Shutting down the entire factory area is nothing less than a "Big Bang" for Sedum.
Because only this production line can create 100 billion yuan output value per year.
Why must we shut down? Huang Wentao admitted that it was forced by the demand side.
The equipment was produced in the late 80s of last century with high energy consumption, low output and unstable product quality.
Though upgrading every year, it is increasingly unable to meet the needs of customers.
In the long run, elimination is the only option.
Beginning in July, when the group moved away from the old factory area, it eliminated all the 247 sets of backward equipment on the production line at once, leaving it all out of the enterprise production field.
The production scale of 57 thousand spindles is equivalent to a spinning mill of medium or above size.

In fact, under the environment of the whole cotton textile industry downturn, it is precisely because of continuous production capacity, cost reduction and short board that makes the Sedum go against the trend and become the top 100 enterprises in the whole province for four consecutive years.

Backward production capacity
The production factors of enterprises have been optimized.
The company has more manpower, material resources and financial resources to carry out technological pformation and product upgrading around products such as high count yarn, functional textile materials and so on.
In the past, over 200 skilled workers on the old production line have been pferred to the new production line without new recruitment and training.
In a factory area of the overseas Chinese town, through continuous technological pformation, equipment renewal and management optimization, the main 60 yarn and other cotton high count yarn products sold to 30 thousand yuan per ton, far exceeding the price of the popular yarn, and in short supply, the enterprise achieved zero inventory.
In the two factory area of overseas Chinese town, the automatic functional composite textile material production line, which invested 550 million yuan, is being installed and debugged. It is expected that the production line will be put into operation in September, 70%.
It is reported that the new acquisition of the project is advanced.

Pan Jianpei said that at present, enterprises will speed up intensive development, especially with new technologies and new technologies as innovation drivers, speed up the elimination of backward production capacity, improve the degree of automation of equipment, reduce human input, give consideration to quality levels, and diversify and diversify products.

In the first half of this year, the output value and main business income of the enterprises reached 1 billion 190 million yuan and 1 billion 120 million yuan respectively after closing down some production lines and implementing the withdrawal of the city into the park.
