According to the ILO study, over the next twenty years, more than half of the staff members of five Southeast Asian countries are facing high risks of unemployment, especially those in the clothing industry.

Research shows that Kampuchea, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam face about 137 million unemployed workers, who occupy 56% of the workforce in these countries.

Textile, clothing and footwear industry are among the five most vulnerable to automation.

In the automotive and auto parts industry, more than 60% of Indonesian workers are faced with the risk of unemployment.

In Thailand, this proportion exceeds 70%.

The report said that in 2015, the scale of auto industry in Southeast Asia ranked seventh in the world, employing over 800 thousand employees.

Thailand, known as "Detroit of Southeast Asia", is a regional hub for the world's top auto manufacturers to provide production and export services.

The automotive industry accounts for about 10% of GDP in the country and employs 10% of the country's manufacturing sector.
