Sales fell by 20% over the same period last year, with sales of 4 trillion and 800 billion rupiah (about $393 million).

Despite the decline in export volume, the total value of Indonesia's currency is increasing due to the continued weakness of the Indonesian currency shield against the US dollar.

Indonesia is one of the world's 6 leading exporters of footwear, and last year exports of leather shoes amounted to US $3 billion 860 million.

Eddy Widjanarko, President of the Indonesian Footwear Association, said there were a number of factors that led to a weak sales in the Indonesian footwear industry, including delays in some projects and cabinet reshuffle leading to the government's re planning of priority support projects and the reduction in China's imports of Indonesian footwear.

When referring to the situation in the coming year, Widjanarko said that next year's situation is not very clear, and many things can not be determined, because the footwear industry is waiting for the government's new project to start.
