Footwear Products

Reporters yesterday learned from the China Light Industry Arts and crafts import and Export Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of trade and industry of Columbia recently issued a decree to implement the 4 month import quota permit temporary management measures for Chinese footwear products under the 26 tariff rules, as of August 31st of this year.

It is understood that the total quota set is based on 4 times the average monthly imports in 2006 and 2007, and on this basis it will float 11.1% again.

The government will initiate a survey on general safeguards during the implementation of the measures.

The same type of products that have been actually shipped, entered and are in the bonded area before the effective date of the above decrees will not be affected.

China's customs statistics show that in 2007, the value of related products exported to China was about US $51 million.
