With the rapid development of PLM technology, PLM Software has gradually covered the whole process of product market demand, conceptual design, detailed design, processing and manufacturing, after-sales service and so on.

The PLM system can not be regarded as a pure database. It can be integrated with cad/cam, PDM, ERP and SCM (Supply Chain Management), CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and other systems. It can make full use of the product data and intellectual assets of the relevant systems to build PLM ecosystem, so that enterprises can achieve data management and effective pfer between internal and related enterprises, so that every work link can develop, produce and manage products in the product life cycle.

What needs to be added is that PLM is not a simple "system integration". It is similar to "putting one PDM, two CAD, and another digital assembly together with a ERP or SCM system connected to it, supplemented by web.

Before PLM came into existence, the industry used PDM (Product Data Management) technology to manage all product related information and all product related processes, and developed WebPDM solutions that can be widely used in many industries such as clothing, footwear, home appliances, furniture and toys.
