Luo Jiahui, Ambassador to China, held his first public speech at Beijing Foreign Studies University, and accepted questions from students from overseas.

Luo Jiahui said the United States welcomed

China will succeed and play a greater role in international affairs.

Unlike Jon Huntsman, a former American ambassador to China, who can speak fluent Chinese, Luo Jiahui can only begin his speech with a simple "Hello everyone".

But as a Chinese descendant, Luo Jiahui drew close ties with the teachers and students under the family in his family stories.

Luo Jiahui said that the United States and China share common interests in safeguarding world peace and prosperity.

"Neither President Obama nor I agree that there is zero sum competition between China and the United States.

We can and must achieve common security and prosperity.

He said the United States welcomes China's prosperity, success and China's greater role in international affairs.

Estrangement

Luo Jiahui did not shy away from it. He thought there was great difference between the two countries, so the difference between them was reasonable.

"Competition does not hide the reality that we are drawing closer."

On the other hand, he promised to increase important folk interaction and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Great progress has been made in meeting visa requirements, and efforts must be made to shorten the time for Chinese students, businessmen and tourists to obtain visas.

Chinese saving consciousness is worth learning.

Luo Jiahui made his own speech for only 20 minutes, but he left 40 minutes to answer questions from students.

There are some sharp questions. A Chinese girl asked whether the Chinese tire case would lose its WTO in the US, and whether it would affect exports to the United States and the future US attitude towards China's export trade.

Luo Jiahui said he hoped that the trade between China and the United States would be fairer and more free, and hoped that the Chinese government would respond and not have so many restrictions on foreign companies' investment.

An American student got the opportunity to ask questions. He asked China and the United States to learn from each other. China did learn a lot with the United States. What does the United States want to learn from China?

Luo Jiahui replied that the Chinese sense of responsibility for the family, the Chinese people's sense of storage and the importance attached to education by Chinese people.

"The Chinese save most, but the United States is trying to reduce the debts of the state and individual."

Referring to China's education, Luo Jiahui said, it does not mean that the American family will become a "tiger mother", but a requirement for academic education in early Chinese education.
