Egypt'S Ministry Of Trade Intends To Ratify The Import Of Short Staple Cotton To Meet Domestic Demand.

Comprehensive media reported on December 16th, a newspaper in Egypt quoted the Minister of trade on Thursday as saying that Egypt intended to ratify the import of short staple cotton to meet the needs of domestic textile mills.

Because of its relatively isolated geographical position, Egypt has been developing high quality in the past few years.

Al-Alam al-Youm, Egypt's financial daily, reported that the Ministry of trade agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of agriculture to open the import window to help local textile mills against high cotton prices.

Because of relative geographical isolation, Egypt has developed high-yield pollution-free long staple cotton stems in the past few years by crossing from lower quality rods.

Egypt's long staple cotton is considered to be the best in the world, and Egypt's cotton has gained an extra price in the world market.

The Egyptian trade minister agreed that the Ministry of agriculture would open its doors and import short staple cotton to help local textile factories cope with the increase in cotton prices.

Trade officials did not immediately comment on this.
