Technopak consultant is one of the leading management consulting companies in India. The company held its second Technopak textile and garment industry leaders forum in Mumbai in September 2nd.


The forum invited more than 150 leaders of the textile and garment industry as well.

On behalf of the conference, the conference debated the relevant management framework, the growth expectations and opportunities at home and abroad, and made suggestions, as well as the major challenges facing the textile and garment industry.


Technopak's Research Report on textile and clothing predicts:


The women's clothing market increased by 12% per year, higher than that of women's clothing market.

Men's Wear

Annual growth rate of 9%, by 2020 women's clothing market share will reach 43%.


The size of India's domestic textile and garment market is expected to grow by 11% (per compound annual growth rate), which will reach 6,56000 million rupees in 2020.


The categories of high growth include women's casual wear, underwear, sportswear, children's clothing,

Western dress

Dress, enlarge size clothing, underwear, work clothes and uniform, technical textiles and home textiles.


One of the highlights of this year's forum is the research program released by Technopak, which shows some interesting trends.

Research outline pointed out that even though men's clothing has occupied a large market share of clothing (43%), the growth rate of women's wear is 12%, higher than that of men's clothing, and the growth rate of men's clothing is 9%.

Because of this high growth, the market share of women's clothing is expected to reach 43% in 2020, and the market share of women's clothing is 37%.

In addition, the growth rate of children's clothing is also very fast. The growth rate of girls' clothing is 11%, and the growth rate of boys' clothing is 10%.
