Cotton production has led to a consistent price increase in Zhengzhou. However, Henan's clothing companies are very calm and do not send price signals.

Due to the low domestic cotton prices in 2008, the cotton planting area declined and output declined in 2009.

The reduction of planting area and catching up with bad weather resulted in a sharp reduction in cotton production in Xinjiang, which led to a sharp rise in cotton prices.

In August 2nd, China's cotton price 328 index reached 18229 yuan / ton, while in August 3, 2009, this index was only 13144 yuan / ton.

Zhang boss, who has been engaged in textile wholesale business for 15 years in the textile world of Zhengzhou, said that the price of cotton cloth has been rising since the Spring Festival. The price of cotton cloth has risen to a new high since 2003. Basically, the price of cotton cloth of each species has increased by more than 20%.

The increase in cotton prices will inevitably lead to an increase in the cost of using cotton cloth, but the clothing enterprises in Henan are very calm.

Li Gang, Secretary General of Henan garment industry association, said that the cost of raw materials accounted for less than 50% of the cost of garment processing. At present, garment processing enterprises in Henan have the ability to digest the cost increase caused by the rise of cotton cloth, and the price of clothing remains stable.
