Standards Drive The Low Carbon Economy &Nbsp; The Era Of Carbon Neutral Has Arrived.

In August 3, 2010, Beijing - the standard British Standards Institution (BSI) introduced its independent carbon neutral regulation (PAS 2060:2010) service, which was officially released in May 19, 2010 in Britain.

PAS 2060 takes existing ISO 14000 (environmental management system) series and PAS 2050 (goods and services in the life cycle).

PAS 2060's clear and consistent operational requirements have been maintained.

The era of carbon neutral has arrived. The launch of PAS 2060 marks that BSI has moved from carbon footprint to carbon neutral.

PAS 2060 requires that enterprises and organizations make positive efforts in order to achieve low carbon production mode or lifestyle and consumption based on quantifying greenhouse gas emissions.

In view of the amount of emissions that can not be reduced, we can achieve neutralization on the basis of voluntary compensation and offset.

This helps to change the misunderstanding of the concept of carbon neutralization in the current society.

Carbon neutralization is not a fashionable amnesty for human climate and crime, but a reflection on its inherent carbon emission level and a real effort to reduce carbon emissions.

The formulation process of PAS 2060 is the same as national or international standards.

As a publicly available specification, PAS 2060 is a fast implementation standard and is directly used to achieve specialized project management.

The project management will provide: effective schedule for reducing delays, targeted expert participation, ensuring appropriate advice, and brand alliance to make contributions more famous.

The methodology of PAS 2060 does not provide exact evidence of total zero emissions. Instead, it provides a credible and proven standard to prove that a specific entity or the body of its application has implemented carbon neutralization.

BSI hopes to make positive contributions to the achievement of national emission reduction targets by sharing with the local market the latest achievements in standards and regulations and active cooperation with government departments.

PAS 2060 applies to the most extensive stakeholders from single citizens to large companies or municipal institutions.

It has three principles of inclusiveness, accessibility and openness. The basis of the principle of inclusiveness is that the wider the scope of rules applies, the more acceptable the results will be. Accessibility is reflected in BSI's attempt to help customers start the PAS 2060 carbon neutralization project from the most extensive starting point. The open nature is the ultimate guarantee for the effectiveness of carbon neutral statements formulated by any organization or individual according to PAS 2060 requirements.

These three principles make the PAS 2060 standard pay more attention to its results and reports.

As a source of standards, BSI and China Institute of standardization have been actively involved in cooperation for a long time, and have successfully introduced PAS 2050 into China.
