The complimentary card is of commemorative significance and belongs to a kind of traffic commemorative card. The bottom card is not refundable.

The free card has the same use function as the ordinary public transport card in Shanghai. It can be used in the city's public transport, rail transit, taxis, ferries, maglev, highways, some parking lots and gas stations and other transportation vehicles and facilities for payment, and enjoy the transfer concessions and other preferential measures of public transport and rail transit.

The free card is a stored value card, with an initial amount of 200 yuan. Its service life is not limited by the duration of the World Expo, and it can be used repeatedly for a long time. After the amount in the free card is used up, citizens can continue to use the card after recharging at each recharging point. In case of quality failure of the complimentary card, citizens can take the card to the maintenance outlets for maintenance.
