Teachers And Students Jointly Design Expo Shanghai Pavilion Clothing

　　 The clothing of all staff, ceremonial staff and volunteers of the Shanghai Pavilion in Shanghai, World Expo, 2010, China, was released at Donghua University 8 days ago. The Shanghai pavilion has also become the first World Expo Provincial Museum to announce the theme dress of the exhibition hall in Shanghai.

In order to encourage Shanghai citizens to participate in the Expo and serve the World Expo, many of the contents of the Shanghai pavilion are created by the public. The uniform design scheme also solicits contributions to Shanghai universities. The final design was selected from Donghua University, which was completed by 6 instructors and 24 students in the Raffles College for 9 months.

There are 7 sets of theme costumes in the Shanghai Pavilion, including 4 women's staff clothing and 2 men's staff clothing for service personnel on different occasions, including light grey, deep coffee, red, lake blue and other colors; and 1 sets of volunteer clothing for Shanghai Pavilion, with white T-shirts as the foundation, and coloured stripes in the details. These 7 sets of clothing have entered mass production and can be met with the public during the Shanghai trial operation.

Zhu Yumei, a teacher in charge of Donghua University who participated in the design, said that the characteristics of this group of clothes are the combination of Chinese and Western cultures, which fully demonstrates the historical connotation of Shanghai. Using the traditional grotto elements in the details, embroidering the carved patterns of the Grottoes in the collar, skirts and waistbands, highlighting the taste of Shanghai. In terms of style, it pays attention to simplicity and generosity, and uses the stereoscopic cutting of international fashion to make the garments elegant and fashionable.

Dr. Wang Haoqing, artistic director of the Preparatory Committee of the Shanghai Pavilion in World Expo, said: "the reason why we choose this group of clothes in hundreds of programmes is that it embodies the elegance and elegance of Shanghai, and attaches importance to functionality.
