Pakistan Textile And Clothing

The Pakistan Federation of Commerce and industry (FPCCI) urged President Bush to release all economic sanctions during the visit of Pakistan's prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to the Pakistan exporters, especially textile and clothing exporters, with direct zero tariff access rights.

President FPCCI said that the Prime Minister of Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has always attached importance to further strengthening and maintaining a very friendly relationship with the United States.

The president of the United States should repay Pakistan's efforts by lifting economic sanctions.

He said that Pakistan is an emerging market and provides a lot of opportunities for US investment. The United States is one of Pakistan's important trading partners.

Industry leaders said that if the economic sanctions were lifted and the direct tariff free access to Pakistan was granted, the unofficial economic relations between the two countries would be greatly improved.
