To achieve permanent antibacterial, it is mainly antibacterial through the material itself. "Generally speaking, antibacterial is a general term for bacteriostatic and bactericidal effects. The killing of microbial nutrients and propagules is called bactericidal action, and the role of preventing or inhibiting microbial growth and reproduction is called bacteriostasis. Because of its porous object shape and the chemical structure of macromolecule polymer, the textile fabric is a good parasitic body for microorganism to survive and reproduce. Antibacterial fabrics have different degrees of antibacterial action, which can prevent bacteria from propagating, reduce their risk of re transmission, and eliminate the peculiar smell caused by bacteria, so as to keep the fabric clean and tidy.

 
At present, the antibacterial testing standards have different standards, such as American Standard and national standard. They are mainly classified into two categories: one is to monitor specific values, for example, the antibacterial rate reaches 99.9%; the other is to monitor the value, for example, the value is 2.2, 3.8, etc. Usually, the value reaches over 2.2 or the antibacterial rate reaches over 90%, that is, the test is qualified.
 
The production of antibacterial textiles from antibacterial fibers will be the main direction of future development. Antibacterial fibers can be roughly divided into two categories: one is to add antibacterial agents to the modified antibacterial fibers made from fibers; the two is natural fibers with antibacterial function, such as some hemp, bamboo fiber, chitin and so on. The former has excellent antibacterial effect, and the latter has antibacterial effect, but its bacteriostatic rate is not high.
 
Modified antibacterial fiber is made by physical modification of polyester or nylon and spinning of filament or yarn by adding metallic silver into the fiber. For example, silver ion antibacterial fiber (polyester, nylon, etc.) can achieve antibacterial effect according to the principle of silver ions inhibiting the formation of bacterial cells. The antibacterial activity of silvery fiber, silver ion antibacterial fiber developed by Xinwei textile, to Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans is over 99%, and has good antibacterial effect. Fiber filament takes "ten" shaped section and staple fiber as the "three leaf" section to form pore grooves between fibers, providing capillary pores for sweat and moisture diversion, which is conducive to moisture absorption and sweat relief, and improves fabric comfort.
 
Nylon based copper ion fibers are strongly embedded in fiber molecular structure because of their strong copper ions. Therefore, they have strong, lasting antibacterial, deodorant and self cleaning functions. Their antibacterial effect is obviously higher than that of other antibacterial fiber products.
 
The copper ion deodorant antibacterial fiber, after washing 50 times, has over 99% antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans, and has good antibacterial effect. After washing for 10 times, the deodorizing effect of ammonia water, acetic acid odor, isoprene odor, 2- nonenal aldehyde odor and indole odor is higher than the standard value, and has good deodorizing effect.
 
As one of the four natural fibers (cotton, wool, silk and hemp), cotton fiber has been favored by many people because of its unique properties such as softness, warmth and comfort. But cotton fibers also have their own shortcomings which are not to be overlooked, such as poor wrinkle resistance, easy to wear, easy to mold, easy to breed bacteria, mites, good durability and single purpose. Using the effective ingredients extracted from plant Chinese medicine to modify cotton fibers, the effective components of plant Chinese medicine were implanted into cotton fibers, giving cotton fibers various functions such as antibacterial, anti mite, itching, anti mildew and so on, so that ordinary cotton fibers had high function or versatile function, and the products were green, environmentally friendly, harmless to human body and good washability. After 20 times of washing, the bacteriostatic rate (Staphylococcus aureus) still reached 92.4%, the mould resistance level reached 1, and the repellency rate of the mites was more than 78%.
