The joint press conference was jointly organized by the Ecuador export and Investment Promotion Council's business office in Guangzhou (the Consulate General of Ecuador in Guangzhou), the clothing and apparel industry association of Guangdong, and the clothing designers association of Guangdong province.
Anabel Lopez Ramos, a designer from Ecuador, joined hands with Chinese designer brand: Wendu brand, brand of Haitang whispering, brand of white paper, and Chinese designer Pu Chaoqun, who became the treasure of Ecuador, ivory fruit, and encountered and integrated in costume design, making Ecuador's exotic customs and Chinese Oriental elements strike a gorgeous collision in the fashion field. Designers and brands use design to talk about fashion, explain the ecological fashion of ivory and the charm of recyclable resources, and integrate fashion clothes with ivory fruit accessories to demonstrate its practical application in the fashion industry.
The hand strings, necklaces and buttons on the clothes worn by the models are all made of ivory fruit.
Ecuador's treasure Ivory fruit, also called Ivory Nut (Tagua Corozo), is the fruit of palm trees, mainly grown in the MANABI and ESMERALDAS rainforest areas of Ecuador. Palm trees can grow for up to 100 years without cutting down these forests. Its name, ivory fruit's color, appearance, hardness and texture are very close to African ivory. These characteristics make the buttons made of ivory become the competitive products of high-end clothing industry. Armani, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren and other brands all use the buttons made of ivory on their high-end product line. Ivory fruit is also an excellent material for carving high-end jewellery.
