China'S Fur Clothing Is Facing Challenges When Russia Joins WTO.

On July 21st, Russian President Putin formally signed a federal bill to ratification of Russia's accession to the WTO protocol.

This means that Russia has completed all relevant legal procedures to join the WTO, and will officially become the 156th member of WTO in August 23rd, which will have a positive impact on the export of Russian fur clothing products.

First, tariff reduction is a key requirement for Russia's accession to the WTO.

After accession to the WTO, the average tariff level of Russia will gradually decrease from 9.5% now, which will undoubtedly be a great benefit to the fur clothing products that import tariffs up to 30%.

Two, the export of Russian fur clothing commodities will enter the Russian market in a legal position through normal channels, and the risks of policy and market will be greatly reduced.

At present, our Russian fur clothing basically enters Russia through the way of "grey customs clearance".

It originated in the 90s of last century, and in order to encourage imports to simplify customs procedures, the Russian customs allowed customs clearance companies to do import business for shippers.

The pportation, customs clearance, commodity inspection and other links of the delivery and receiving rooms are all settled by them. A special customs declaration method between China and Russia is "grey customs clearance" which prevails.

A major consequence of the grey customs clearance is that the Russian customs clearance company colluded with some customs and lied or concealed goods to evade taxes, resulting in the lack of legal status when goods entered Russia.

The Russian government has also been keeping a strict crackdown on the "gray customs clearance" and illegal sales activities, and our business in Russia often suffers huge losses.

It is believed that after Russia's accession to the WTO, there will be positive and obvious changes.

Three, we will form a forced mechanism after entering the WTO, forcing the Russian government to improve its investment environment. At present, the Russian government departments will have a more complicated examination and approval process and low efficiency, and the import and export trade environment will also gradually improve, thus promoting our export to Russia fur.
