Columbia Textile Industry Appeals To Face Up To Smuggling Problem
The Columbia textile and garment industry urges the government to deal with more and more smuggling trade, because smuggled goods now account for 30% of the national garment sales in Columbia.

EduardoBotero, President of the Association (NationalInstituteforExportsandFashion), said that the Republic of Costa Rica should solve the problem of smuggled goods once and for all, and the government should also provide relevant solutions.
President Botero added that tough measures such as sentence imprisonment and more rigorous customs inspection are necessary tools, and the association will cooperate with each other to end rampant smuggling.
As the price of materials in the world cotton and other highlands has skyrocketed, the textile industry in Columbia has been in the predicament of rising costs. Botero president pointed out that Combating Smuggling is an urgent task for the Costa Rican textile industry at this critical moment.
