February 15th snow boots have been popular all over the world for two or three years.

Nowadays, almost every girl walking from Hollywood actress to the street has Ugg.

This may be the most surprising and the most unattractive trend of footwear in the past ten years, but no one can deny the success of the bland snow boots.

According to 14 reports, snow boots (Ugg)

Sheepskin boots brand

The annual revenue is as high as 500 million pounds.

Ugg inventor changed to surfboard

You may think that its inventor must be a multimillionaire, living in a magnificent mansion and drinking champagne every day. You guessed wrong.

The 69 year old Shane Stedman, the inventor of snow boots, still lives in a three bedroom bungalow in Mona Weir, a surfing town in northern Sydney, Australia. He has lived there for nearly 50 years without a large bundle of cash or a sports car.

He has not retired yet, and he still works 12 hours a day.

Instead of making snow boots, he made 500 hand surfing boards for his small workshops every year.

So where did this billion pound go? It looks like sterman has never seen the money.

After he invented this kind of boots, he sold the cheap and strong boots to the local surfers.

Ten years later, in 1983, he sold his product name right to the US footwear brand DEX for ten thousand pounds and three pairs of free snow boots each year.

Since then, he has witnessed the popularity of his snowshoe boots.

No regrets and great wealth.

It must be painful to pass by 500 million pounds? But in fact, Stedman did not regret it at all.

"My children preferred to listen to how I came up with this idea, and now I see Vitoria Beckham and Paris Hilton feel great in snow boots," he said. "Besides that, it's enough for me to pay for the children's tuition."

He originally named his boots Ugh and later changed to Ugg.

At that time, the popular response to this kind of boots was that these boots were "ugly".

How did Stedman come up with this idea? {page_break}

A surfer and his friends came to Stedman's surfboard shop and asked if there was anything to keep his feet warm.

It happened in 1973.

Stedman came up with the idea of wrapping his feet in sheep's clothing, but there was another problem. He simply wrapped his feet in sheep's clothing and could not walk on the beach and on the road. He had to come up with a more practical way.

In a surfing competition, he finally came up with an idea to add a sole to the sheep's skin, and the snow boots were born.

We can't live without them.

Although Stedman has registered trademark protection for his invented snow boots, the Coles chain store in Australia has begun selling a completely different version.

Coles's boots began to dominate the market, so when the US shoe brand DEX wanted to buy Stedman's trademark at ten thousand, he agreed without hesitation.

"At that time, it was a large sum of money, enough for me to send children to private schools for 5 years.

So I thought, "why not?"

Now, Stedman receives three pairs of snow boots every year. He keeps one pair for himself, the other two pairs to his 33 year old son, and the other to his 30 year old daughter.

He still enjoys the feeling of wearing snow boots: "my home is full of snow boots.

I can't live without them.

Even in summer, I always wear snow boots. "
