Hu Jintao stressed that we should take a responsible attitude towards history and future, stand at the height of safeguarding the common interests of mankind, carry forward the spirit of sharing the same boat, make persistent efforts, and strive to promote the strong, sustainable and balanced growth of the world economy.

The summit was held at the Seoul Convention and Exhibition Centre, mainly discussing the world economic situation, strong, sustainable, balanced growth framework, international financial institutions reform, international financial regulation, global financial safety net, development and trade.

The summit begins at 9:50 a.m. local time.

The chairperson of the group of twenty countries, President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Myung-bak, chaired the meeting.

The leaders of the meeting spoke on the topic of the conference.

Hu Jintao delivered an important speech entitled "redouble efforts to promote development".

Hu Jintao pointed out that with the joint efforts of the group of twenty and the international community, the world economy is slowly recovering, but the total demand is still insufficient, and there is no new economic growth point.

The economic policy objectives of different countries are different, the coordination of macroeconomic policies is more difficult, and the fragility and imbalance of the world economic recovery are further apparent.

The deep impact of the international financial crisis is still fermented, and the global development problem is more prominent.

To achieve the goal of promoting a strong, sustainable and balanced growth of the world economy, Hu Jintao proposed

Four suggestions

First, we should improve the framework mechanism and promote cooperation and development.

Promoting the strong, sustainable and balanced growth of the world economy is of great importance to the world.

We should continue to adhere to the principle of member state leadership, take full account of the different national conditions and stages of development of different countries, understand and respect the autonomy of all countries in choosing the development path and development policies, continue to improve and improve the evaluation standards, and make the three strong, sustainable and balanced growth equally important. In the process of standard formulation and implementation, we should make overall plans and promote comprehensively, improve the framework, pform the framework from short-term emergency to long term governance, strengthen the long-term policy coordination among countries, and promote the complementary and mutually beneficial growth of economic advantages of all countries.

Second, advocate open trade and promote coordinated development.

We should unswervingly advance free trade, firmly oppose all forms of protectionism, abolish existing trade protection measures, substantially reduce various trade and investment barriers, expand common interests, properly handle frictions and differences through equal dialogue, cancel unreasonable restrictions on the export of high-tech products, and jointly create a free, open, fair and fair global trading environment.

We should abide by our commitments and push forward the Doha Round negotiations to achieve comprehensive and balanced results at an early date, achieve the goals of the development round, and promote the establishment of an open and free global trading system.

Third, improve the financial system and promote stable development.

We should continue to promote the management of international financial institutions and improve the proportion of middle and top management personnel in developing countries on the principle of fair and preferential selection. We should promote the IMF to strengthen the monitoring and early warning of capital flows and strive to solve the systematic and root problems existing in the international financial system. We should improve the international monetary system and establish an international reserve currency system with stable currency, orderly supply and adjustable volume. The main reserve currency issuing economies should implement responsible policies, maintain relatively stable exchange rates, enhance the ability of emerging market countries and developing countries to cope with financial risks, and mitigate and gradually solve the fundamental contradiction resulting in the risk of foreign exchange liquidity.

Fourth, narrow the gap of development and promote balanced development.

We should establish a more balanced and balanced new global development partnership, promote mutual understanding and coordination between developed and developing countries, attach importance to the spillover effects of macroeconomic policies of the group of twenty on developing countries, promote cooperation between North and south, expand interest points, set up a new concept of development based on development, promote cooperation and resist risks, enhance the position of development issues in the international agenda, and promote development problems from a macro and strategic level.

We should advocate and promote new ways of development, reduce barriers to human technology pfer, and create conditions for the vast number of developing countries to achieve green development and sustainable development at an early date.

We should work together to promote the Cancun climate change conference to uphold the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities. Based on the achievements of the Copenhagen Conference on climate change, we will further achieve positive results under the guidance of the political consensus of the Copenhagen agreement.

After attending the fifth summit of the group of twenty leaders in Seoul, Hu Jintao flew to Seoul, Japan on a special plane from Seoul on that day.

The 13 APEC eighteenth leaders' informal meeting was held in Yokohama from 13 to 14.
